Presidential Honors
Would you like to win $100.00 and receive recognition during the Virtual Awards Ceremony and Commencement? The Presidential Honor Award recognizes graduating students that show outstanding leadership and substantial involvement on campus.
If you have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, plan to graduate in the 2025-26 academic year, and demonstrate outstanding leadership and campus involvement you are eligible to apply for the 2026 Presidential Honor Award.
One student from each campus will be selected for the award. The award winners will be recognized during the Virtual Awards Celebration and during Commencement, and will receive a medallion and $100.00.
The Presidential Honor Award was established in July 1997 within the 91探花 Foundation to honor retiring college President Dwight Link for his commitment to PTK. Contributions to the fund were made from Dwight鈥檚 family, friends and the college community.

Gabriel Viau
Student
Gabriel Viau is a driven business administration student with a strong focus on management,
leadership, and organizational performance. Currently pursuing multiple degrees at
Bay De Noc Community College, Gabriel is working toward an Associate of Arts in Business
Administration, along with Associate of Applied Science degrees in Business and Marketing,
and a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Small Business.
Known for his leadership and work ethic, Gabriel has developed hands-on experience
in fast-paced, customer-focused environments through his role at Horizons Steakhouse
at the Island Resort & Casino. Starting as a busser and host and advancing to server
and bartender, he has consistently demonstrated the ability to manage high-volume
responsibilities, build strong customer relationships, and deliver exceptional service.
Gabriel is deeply involved in campus and community leadership. He serves as President
of the Business Professionals of America chapter, where he leads meetings, organizes
events, and drives member engagement. He is also an active member of Phi Theta Kappa,
Campus Activities Board, and Civics Corps, reflecting his commitment to service and
student involvement.
His academic achievements highlight his dedication to excellence. Gabriel has earned
recognition as Valedictorian of Bark River-Harris High School, received the Outstanding
Graduate Award in Business, and has been named to the Dean鈥檚 List throughout his college
career. He is also a recipient of the Presidential Honor Award and a member of the
All-Michigan Academic Team.
With strong skills in leadership, team coordination, problem-solving, and data-driven
decision-making, Gabriel is committed to pursuing a career in corporate management,
where he aims to lead teams, improve operational efficiency, and contribute to long-term
organizational success.
